SUSIE KERSHAWFITI, FCIL
A Fellow of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, and of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, all her work is informed by her wide experience and skills as a professional interpreter and translator. As an independent Language Consultant and Project Manager since 1994, Susie provides insightful analysis and advice on all issues relating to the language dimension, for managers planning projects, meetings or events with a multi-language component. She selects, contracts and coordinates teams of bilingual facilitators, whispering interpreters or translators in support of plc group or line functions such as European Works Council meetings, management development training, employee research. A bilingual facilitator, Susie specialises in supporting multicultural teams and groups in developing new and creative ways of carrying out practical tasks. She has translated English and American models and workshops for use in Europe, transposing and delivering in Spanish and French. She enables a learning environment, encouraging all project participants to build on the experiences of each event to enrich the next. The core belief underpinning her work is that successful group performance in international business relies on communication based on multicultural awareness and integration. Drawing on her own experience, Susie runs presentation skills training courses and is currently developing a course module specifically designed for mother-tongue English speakers addressing a multi-language audience. Whilst facilitating groups and individuals in career change and job search, Susie studied on the MSc programme 'Change Agent Skills and Strategies' at the University of Surrey, England. A Member of the Market Research Society, from 1980 Susie worked as an independent Consultant, designing, managing and implementing qualitative research projects in a wide range of industrial and commercial sectors throughout W. Europe, USA, Mexico; moderating focus groups and interviewing individuals at all levels, in French, Spanish and English. December, 2006 |
